J.D. Ford corrects the record on Victoria Spartz’s misleading letter
Carmel, IN - J.D. Ford released a response to Victoria Spartz’s letter, which contains misleading information about her stock trades. The responses outlines:
Spartz’s financial disclosures and transaction reports indicate that she traded stocks while in Congress
Her financial disclosures indicate that she traded airline stocks while in congress
She does not deny that she has benefited from high dollar trading of individual stocks worth between $450,000 and $1,000,000 regulated by Congress
Spartz apparently used her campaign funds to pay expenses related to an investment property
“Congresswoman Spartz denying her stock trades and contributing them to her spouse is not an acceptable excuse for benefiting from her position in Congress. This is an insult to voters,” said Ford. “Hoosiers are struggling with the cost of groceries, utilities and gas, while politicians like Victoria Spartz continue to work for donors and special interests to pad their bank accounts. This is exactly why I’m running – to fight corruption in Washington D.C.”
