Voters in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District should see districtwide on broadcast (Indianapolis), OTT/CTV streaming, and digital and read in the mailbox that Victoria Spartz is everything Hoosiers have come to hate about Washington. Instead of serving us she's enriched herself and driven up our costs in the process. Spartz traded $5 million in stocks in industries she regulated while in Congress. Additionally, her campaign has been flooded with money from insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and she's done their bidding. Hoosiers need to know: Victoria Spartz is a Washington insider who sold us out.
1) Corruption & Self Dealing
Voters need to know that Victoria Spartz has traded $5 million in stocks in industries she regulated while in Congress and fought against reforms that would stop members of Congress from insider trading. For years, she refused to sign onto efforts that would have banned members of Congress from insider trading, including even violating existing rules that required disclosing trades she made while in Congress. It's the worst kind of Washington greed: a politician using her office to get rich while your costs keep climbing.
2) Prescription Drugs & Health Care
Voters need to know that Victoria Spartz let the insurance and pharmaceutical industries flood her campaign with tens of thousands of dollars, and then did their bidding, voting to protect their profits, drive up premiums, kick 650,000 Hoosiers off care, deny coverage for pre-existing conditions and protect the high cost of prescription drugs. When Hoosiers needed somebody to take on special interests and stand up for us, Spartz sided with the health care industries.
Targeted — Data Centers
Republicans outside of Hamilton County need to read in their mailboxes and see on their phones that Victoria Spartz sold them out to the big data-center companies. Spartz took campaign money from Big Tech and the companies that build data centers, then stayed silent as they moved in. As the state passed the largest tax break in the country to lure data centers to Indiana, Spartz said nothing while they built over our farmland, drained local water, and passed their soaring utility costs onto ratepayers. Instead of fighting to give communities a voice, Spartz took Big Tech's money and stayed silent.
